The cutting-edge dresses of Maison Margiela’s ready-to-wear collections subvert the classic codes of luxury garments. Through illustrative techniques developed in the haute couture atelier, Creative Director John Galliano re-imagines the cutting of dresses from evening gowns to cocktail shapes and daytime silhouettes. They manifest in shift, sheath, slips and strapless dresses, as well as A-line, one-shoulder, baby-doll, cape, cardigan and wrap constructions.
