Margaret Menchaca Alvarez is an artist and a full-time art teacher looking to expand her work and her audience.

Born and raised in Houston,Texas she attended Catholic school until the age of fourteen. Later she attended the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts where she graduated in 1999. After high school she attended the University of Houston and entered the studio painting program. It was there she received her Bachelors of Fine Arts in 2007. Shortly after graduating Margaret started teaching art full-time at a private school. In her second year as an educator she received her M.A. in teaching from National University. Her mission now is to continue teaching and building her painting portfolio.

 Her interest in art is extensive and painting has always been her medium of choice.  Along with creating her own work she has taken on some side projects. Live painting, face painting, pet portraits and commissioned art keep her busy and help her to maintain a wide-ranging collection of work.
